About Gricel
I’m a twenty-something bibliophile with an MA in Lit, and I’m currently working on a Master’s in Library and Information Science. This blog is mostly about myself, so watch out for random rants on school, pets, family, and life in general. I want to write and I want to become a librarian (and then I plan to take over the world!!!). I also fancy myself a photographer (blame it on that disposable camera my mom gave me when I was a kid). I’m interested in nineteenth century British literature, Japanese culture, and all things kitschy and cute. I’ve been blogging since I was 15, but I deleted those early posts ages ago in a fit of Feng Shui style, out-with-the-old net cleaning. Blogging keeps me sane and provides me with an outlet for my creative energies when overwhelmed by academic writing and work.
About Things She Said
This blog is a hodge-podge of thoughts, reflections, and comments.
I first created “Things She Said” back around the spring/summer of 2001, when I was 17 and just learning about blogging. This was back when Geocities was alive and offered free ftp(!) and banner-less(!!) sites. Since its inception, the site has gone through numerous incarnations as a personal site, a blog, a journal, a collective, and a hiatus page. Now that real life is starting to get back on track, I decided restart the blogging experiment.
The domain name was first inspired by the song “Things She Said” by the Swedish band Kent. I’ve grown attached to it and it still seems to fit.
The domain houses my personal blog (of little note and no distinction
) and the Fanlistings that I run.
About the current design
The layout is based on the Written theme by Teresa Jones (her site seems to have disappeared) with a few modifications of my own. The Monogram teacup in the header was a gift from Em.
